Tomang Interactive Playground Park Equipped with Traditional Games Facilities

The West Jakarta Forestry Sub-department once again built another interactive playground park located on Jalan Tomang Raya, Tomang, Grogol Petamburan.

We hope it can encourage children to reduce their time in playing gadget

This park built on an 18,000-square meter land with tree house, net hammock, bridge, fishpond, and bird nest was constructed from October 2019 and involved 28 PJLP workers.

West Jakarta Forestry Sub-department Head, Firdaus Rasyid stated that most of the materials used to build those facilities used the woods from trees pruning.

"There are traditional games facilities provided inside the playground, such as taplak gunung (scotch hop), gobak sodor (a game with two teams competing), congklak (mancala), pletokan (a small, gun-type toy made of bamboo), engrang (bamboo stilts) and chess," he explained, Monday (12/2).

Unfortunately, those games began to be forgotten by the millennial generation. Moreover it could train in building teamwork, solidarity to produce creativity in solving problems.

"We hope it can encourage children to reduce their time in playing gadget," he stated.

For the information, as many as 11 infiltration wells are still being made inside and is targeted to be compete on December 6.
